Veterans Gardens. A place to discover the most beautiful thing in the world. You.
PALISADES FOREVER
“Your Palisades Park,” a 501(c)(3), is excited to announce the “Palisades Forever” Veterans Gardens Campaign.
Veterans Gardens opened three years ago (100% funded by generous Palisadians) to create a town sanctuary to celebrate the best of our community – and to honor veterans from our town who have selflessly given to their country.
Veterans Gardens was imagined to replace a neglected, rundown, dirt field and a buckled, cement pad of graffitied, decades-old, worn picnic tables.
Designed, built, landscaped, and maintained by town funding, Veterans Gardens is already a beloved heartbeat in our spectacular, family-loving town for relaxing, picnicking, birthday parties, playing bocce, and myriad community-centric events.
Bocce leagues have exploded beyond anyone’s imagination at Veterans Gardens, with 680 Palisadians enjoying year-round weekly leagues.
The Tuesday morning Senior League has been enthusiastically embraced by nearly 350 of Palisades’ largest growing demographic – its senior citizens.
The weekly bocce league has created an unparalleled sense of community and belonging for our seniors, spawning relationships — well beyond the bocce courts.
.
Continuing to build upon belonging and community, upcoming initiatives at Veterans Gardens include a Saturday morning Chess Club for chess lovers of all ages, a morning outdoor fitness club “Happy Hour,” and a bocce league for high school students confronting mental and physical challenges.
Since opening Veterans Gardens’ door, you can always find so much fun and activity by Palisadians in the five “Gardens in the Park”; including fantastic birthday parties, community get-togethers, American Legion events, you name it.
Veterans Gardens is now the home of a new town tradition, the “Palisades Picnic,” an autumn day for all Palisadians to celebrate everything that is beautiful about our town of the Palisades.
At night, at the base of our Palisades town flag, there is a stunning cylinder with stenciled words that light the surrounding area.
The words speak to the attributes and qualities that Palisadians hold most dear and to what we are privileged to enjoy in our town — because of the selfless and heroic service of our town’s veterans.
.
$2,500,000 CAMPAIGN
To kickstart our endowment campaign, a generous Palisades family has anonymously agreed to donate $1,000,000 in matching funds as a challenge to fellow Palisadians.
Our town’s goal is to meet and exceed that challenge by raising $1,500,000 – to establish a $2,500,000 fund for the preservation, protection, improvement, operation and maintenance in perpetuity of the unique sanctuary of Veterans Gardens.

NAMING OPPORTUNITIES
Naming a Bocce Court
($100,000)
One of the three bocce courts will be named in your honor. “Chandler Family Court.” “Thomas Delaney Court.” Could be a group of families. Could be a local business.
A prominent plaque at each court will display the name of your honoree. Also, an inspiring full-page story on the Veterans Gardens’ website…
Naming rights for one of the courts has been secured; the Jimmy Dunne court is a generous donation from Jimmy Dunne’s friends.
Two courts are available.
Sponsoring the Coast Guard Garden Room
($50,000)
There are five unique picnic alcoves in Veterans’ Gardens — each a distinct “garden room in the park” that commemorates one of the branches of our military service.
Do you have a parent or child or other loved one whose service you wish to honor?
Consider sponsoring the “Coast Guard Garden Room.” It will be the home to a commemorative celebrating those who defend our country.
As the sponsor, you or your loved one will be prominently celebrated on the commemorative that will define this Garden Room.
Donors will also have a separate page on the website celebrating the life story of the person they have chosen to honor as well as recognizing you on the Donor Wall.
WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU!
